PLAYER OF THE YEAR
POINT SYSTEM
The top 40 players on the points list at the end of the year will receive an invitation to participate in the Sacramento Golf Club Player of the Year Tournament in October. The Club Champions (gross and net) will receive an automatic invite to the tournament. The top 4 players on the points list will receive a PAID green fees into the tournament.
For each Sacramento Golf Club regular event from October to September, a “point level” designation will be given based on the field size as shown in the table. Players will receive placement points for their finish in an event based on field size. A “no-show” or “disqualification” will result in a player receiving no points for the event. A player who competes in a partner event without a partner where one is required (i.e. Scramble, etc.) will receive the lowest tier of points. Players will earn 2.5 times the points for the Club Championship.
Ties: We will use the USGA rule for tiebreakers (Back 9, 6, 3, Front 9, 6, 3)
Partner events: For partner events, partners will each receive 50% of the total point value for their finish position. (Example: 1st place teammates in a 1000 point event each receive 250 points)
